An internationally approved project management certification from the Project Management Institute will contribute to ensuring professional completion of the extensive software development projects with which WirTek will be challenged in the years to come.
Mr. Søren Corneliussen and Mr. Jens Bang Mathiasen, two project managers from the software development house, WirTek, located in North Jutland, are now holders of the Project Management Professional title, which is an internationally approved and protected title from the Project Management Institute – the leading non-profit organisation for project leaders.
The ambition is that the certification shall lead to much more than fancy titles. WirTek have embarked on an ambitious scheme and the result will be impressive and there will, without doubt, be a great need for top professional project management skills. Together with their certification, the PMI project leaders sign a “code of conduct” which will contribute to ensuring professionalism in their project work. To keep going as a project leader is another requirement the Project Management Institute have. They do not issue unconditional carte blanche but instead ensure the quality by demanding development and update of knowledge on an ongoing basis.
And according to Mr. Søren Corneliussen, one of the two certified project managers, it is also the absolute best way of maintaining competencies, “Every time I start on a new project I take a look in my toolbox and decide whether it’s a hacksaw, a hammer or maybe a sledgehammer I’m in need of. Often it?s a combination of the lot. With my PMI certification I’m in an even better position to have a professionally critical approach towards planning before project start and not to forget handling the challenges that emerge during a project.”
