Wirtek has secured a major contract with Danish real estate giant, Port of Aalborg Real Estate, driving its Clean Energy strategy forward. This deal, following Wirtek’s acquisition of Seluxit assets, accelerates its strategic expansion into the sector, delivering full-service solutions that include both hardware and subscription-based software services.
As Denmark’s first CO2-neutral port, the Port of Aalborg has been a pioneer in green energy initiatives, focusing on reduced carbon emissions and optimized energy consumption.
This collaboration aligns with their larger strategy to increase energy efficiency and comply with EU regulations on energy monitoring and reporting.
The project entails the remote monitoring of Port of Aalborg's electricity, water and heat meters along with invoicing and energy management adapted to the individual leases. Additionally, it will enhance the buildings' energy efficiency moving forward.
Through Wirtek’s innovative Wappsto platform, the port will streamline operations and provide its tenants with precise, usage-based billing.
Wirtek’s Wappsto platform transforms outdated manual processes into a fully automated real-time cloud-based system, significantly boosting efficiency and sustainability outcomes.
The contract, estimated at an initial value of up to DKK 2 million, includes ongoing subscription-based revenue from Wappsto.
According to CEO Michael Aaen, the contract has been won as a direct result of Wirtek's takeover of both assets and employees from Seluxit A/S in July 2024.

Beyond this immediate success, the partnership opens doors for future expansions of Wirtek’s services in areas like energy performance optimization and highlights Wirtek’s strengthened position in Clean Energy.
Implementation begins immediately and is set to continue through 2025, with expectations of additional orders as the solution is successfully rolled out and additional opportunities with Wirtek are explored.
