About us

We are a Danish IT consultancy company that provides software development, testing, and consultancy services to help clients worldwide.

We specialize in Energy, Wireless Communication & Automation, Workforce & Facility Management, Trade & E-commerce and Digitalization.

At Wirtek, we prioritize building long-term client relationships, with some lasting over a decade. We believe that quality partnerships are just as important as software quality in achieving our clients’ goals.

Established in 2001, we have offices in Denmark, Romania and Portugal, and have been listed on Nasdaq First North Copenhagen since 2006. 

The 2024 acquisition of Pragmasoft and Seluxit opens new long-term strategic possibilities in clean energy and IoT.

Brief Company History

Our story starts more than 20 years ago, when Michael Aaen founded the company as a spin-off from Nokia. Since then, we’ve been constantly growing, building upon our Danish heritage and mission to contribute to our clients’ growth through transparent and trust-based partnerships.

Kent Mousten Sørensen

Chairman of the Board
As an avid investor and board member in several companies, he’s focused on Data-Driven Decisions and Digitalization. Through many years Kent has been active in the tension field between research and development, management and the financial department in technology companies. We can count on him to keep his eye on the ball when it comes to profitable growth and this is an important reason for our post-financial crisis success. With his passion, no nonsense approach and strong drive, he puts things in motion and motivates us to think outside the box and connect the dots. He's a super guy to work with, even though he's not a fan of Apple.

Martin Dommerby Kristiansen

Martin is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in the international software services industry, business strategy, relationship building, advocacy, digital transformation, strategic sales, and marketing. He is a skilled communicator with an open working style, someone you'd love to work with to achieve great results while enjoying the process. With almost a decade of board experience, he aims to help companies successfully implement their business strategies while identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges. As a former CEO with over 12 years of experience in the technology industry, he has built successful sales and marketing teams to drive growth and internalization. Martin is a focused and ambitious individual who always seeks a win-win situation, even when it's not immediately apparent. He is committed to walking the extra mile for a successful partnership. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the game of Padel and still trying to master the Bandeja technique.

Janie C. Nielsen

Board Member
Janie has extensive experience as a trusted legal and strategic advisor for boards and executive management and she has also a profound board experience. With a rich legal background, particularly in employment and labor law, corporate law, and mergers & acquisitions combined with strong commercial insights, she aims to assist companies in reaching their business goals alongside the necessary focus on the legal aspects and corporate governance. She finds great energy in working in teams and is a person with strong integrity. On the weekends, she is often on the roads riding the racing bicycle with good friends.

Passionate about the business environment and helping clients in bringing great IT solutions to market. Experienced entrepreneur and skilled manager, with 30 years in the international IT industry, he founded Wirtek almost 20 years ago. As the CEO, he’s a great team player, constantly looking for the best way to solve any issue by including the stakeholders and listening to their ideas. Driven by results, but never losing sight of his team, he has successfully led Wirtek through good times and some tough circumstances, keeping the company on the right strategic track. He walks 10 km every single day! What other proof of determination do you need?

Niels is an experienced leader and manager with roots in the shipping industry. Over the past 20 years, he has held various roles, including sales executive, manager, director, and VP in the SaaS and IT service sector. Niels excels at designing, building, and driving sales and marketing organisations forward. His focus lies in business development initiatives, networking, and combining growth-oriented strategies with a data-driven understanding of market trends and opportunities. Niels is a passionate advocate for trust and inspirational leadership, dedicated to creating environments where teams and individuals can thrive. When he’s not cycling or walking his two dogs in the countryside, you might find him with home-improvement tools in hand, enjoying some serious rock/ metal tunes.

Her mission is to create a marketing ecosystem to drive growth. She is our iron lady who is leading the way for Wirtek to dramatically change its marketing methods and create a new strong brand. Being a dreamer and a strategic thinker, she is focused on the future value of those changes both for clients and for Wirtek. With her helpful guide, she makes us understand the purpose and inspires us to all go in the same direction. Empathic, caring, supportive, passionate about marketing and people. She is driven, has a relentless focus on getting things done and likes to see people around her succeed in their everyday job, including her team of creative and dedicated marketers. She spent 10 years learning, improving, and delivering HR & Administration services in different environments – from small companies to large corporations, from Romania to Europe, Asia, United States, through fast-changing and matrix environments in multiple industries.Ema is a highly committed and passionate professional. She has a dynamic and transformative approach to challenges while also focusing on the end goals. Her role involves keeping a keen eye on results while answering the needs of the team members, the clients, and the business, both internally and in a client-facing context.Ema confidently says there is no HeRo without HR. Her mission is to define, enhance and implement the new HR and Administration structure in Wirtek's developing business environment.

Cristian worked many years in assuring the quality of the software products/services. Being attentive to quality shaped and trained his skills. He always wants the customers to get the best quality and is actively involved in their happiness. To deliver the best quality, he always tried to lower the gap between business and technology and bring these two worlds closer to better communicate. Education (both management and technology) is also an important part of his strengths. Continuous learning, both on a personal level and organizational level, is one of his creeds and he considers it a good motivator for growing and succeeding.

Being an IT engineer by profession, he became passionate about coding before realizing that managing teams offers a gigabyte of room for creativity. Calin has over 20 years of experience in various IT roles, starting as a Java Developer and later transitioning into .Net Development and leadership positions. He was seeking a change in his career and was looking for a trustworthy company that values its employees. With this goal in mind, Calin co-founded CoreBuild, where he worked as a manager for more than a decade. As a manager, he continued to nurture his love for coding while also prioritizing the growth and development of his team and the company. Currently, Calin is responsible for the technical skills enhancement of the team at Wirtek.
